Job Description The Opportunity Reporting to the Underground Mining Superintendent, we are currently seeking a Senior Underground Mining Engineer to support our Rosemont underground mining operation. Working closely with our underground mining contractor Barminco, this is a key role responsible for providing high level technical advice, mine planning, design, scheduling and costing input and direction for the operation. This is a FIFO role, working on an 8:6 roster. About the Role Short to medium term mine planning activities; Monitoring progress against plan / budget and reporting significant deviations; Examining mining methods and equipment to improve performance; Overseeing and approving drill and blast plans; Monitoring, and simulation of, mine ventilation and dewatering network; Supervising the activities of lesser experienced mining engineers and other technical staff. Ensuring development and infrastructure designs are practical and cost effective; Develop and maintain electronic and other filing systems for mine planning design and construction; and Conduct project work as directed by the Underground Mining Manager or General Manager as required. Desired Skills and Experience About You Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering; Over 7 years underground mining operational experience in an underground hard rock environment; WA First class mine manager's certificate of competency (preferred but no essential); Advanced computer skills required for mine planning, D&B, scheduling, e.g. Surpac, Deswik; and Current WA class C manual drivers licence.
