This Systems Design Engineer will be a member of our Trane Commercial Systems organization and be responsible for all aspects of equipment design and component integration for the Arctic Packaged and Modular Chiller product lines.
This includes modeling system performance, innovating new technology for future products, validating ideas and system performance in the laboratory.
This role interacts with other functional resource groups to support product design and integration, such as Compressor Engineering, Thermal Systems Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Manufacturing, etc.

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):
" Support lab validation: develop test plan, conduct and support lab testing, perform data analysis and review to identify any discrepancies or anomalies in the test results, collaborate with Modeling Engineers to calibrate the performance model, identify and troubleshoot any technical issues or challenges encountered during the validation process, communicate effectively with Engineering team to provide updates and insights.
" Apply engineering knowledge to perform Chiller Performance Modeling to simulate and predict unit performance.
" Chiller System Performance, Reliability, and Quality.
" Conduct design FMEAs; develop and execute resulting risk mitigation plans.

MUST HAVE
" Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BSME preferred) /Associate degree with solid 7 years experience
" 7 years of engineering work experience is required.
" Must be proficient in problem solving with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
" Ability to efficiently understand, condense, and organize information necessary to make engineering decisions along with having the ability to be coached and mentored by senior employees.
" Understanding of HVAC system including refrigeration, heat transfer, and airflow.
" In house simulation tools Understanding of

NICE TO HAVE
" Master's Degree in Engineering is a plus.
" Design or application experience with HVAC products, thermodynamic computations, pressure vessel design, compressor, motor, controls, or heat transfer technologies and understanding of Data & Analytics, making data driven decisions and programming knowledge is a plus.
