Job Title : Senior Mechanical Engineer - Hybrid Schedule

Job Description: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work from their Middletown, RI facility with a hybrid work from home schedule. As a mechanical engineer for the Tactical Hardware business area, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and testing a torpedo tube deployment system capable of launching payloads from a submarine platform.

We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: Design of electro-mechanical systems capable of surviving harsh environmental conditions (shock, vibration, temperature); Proficiency utilizing CAD tools to create 3D models and drawings for technical data packages that meet ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards; Experience performing structural and thermal analysis to meet submarine environmental requirements.

Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
