Job Description:

We're hiring on behalf of a client.


We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Process Engineer to join our team. As a process engineer, you will play a crucial role in improving and optimizing our manufacturing processes specifically for the Post Cast processes (e.g. mold knock-out, abrasive cutting, rough finishing, sand blasting, etc.). You will be responsible for analyzing current processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing value-added solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process engineering principles and a passion for continuous improvement.


This position is on-site and the ideal candidate will reside in La Porte, IN. Relocation assistance is provided.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor key variables of the manufacturing sub-processes (e.g. knock-out, cutting, grinding, and cleaning) to determine process stability
  • Conduct detailed analyses of existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvement initiatives
  • Design and evaluate experiments to optimize process parameters and improve product quality
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and compliance
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track process performance and identify potential issues
  • Investigate and troubleshoot process deviations or failures, implementing corrective actions as necessary
  • Actively participate in project teams to provide process engineering expertise and support


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • At least 5+ years of experience in process engineering, preferably in the processing of castings or other metallic products, or foundry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in process simulation tools and statistical analysis software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards related to process engineering
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
