Job Summary
Drury Southwest, Inc. is a vertically integrated development and construction company focusing on Drury Hotels as well as localized commercial and residential operations. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of HVAC and plumbing systems in various building projects. This role involves working closely with architects, project managers, and other engineers to deliver efficient, sustainable, and code-compliant mechanical systems.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Design and Development:
- Develop HVAC and plumbing system designs, including calculations, layouts, and specifications
- Ensure designs meet building codes, safety regulations, and energy efficiency standards
- Work with Mechanical Designer to create detailed drawings for project execution
Project Management:
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Review and approve technical submittals and shop drawings
- Manage project schedules and ensure timely delivery of designs and plans
System Analysis and Optimization:
- Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing
- Evaluate and select appropriate equipment and materials for each project
- Identify opportunities for system optimization and cost-saving measures
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Conduct on-site inspections to ensure system installations align with design specifications
- Provide technical guidance during the commissioning and troubleshooting phases
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare technical reports, design narratives, and specifications
- Maintain thorough documentation of designs, calculations, and decisions
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain it is preferred
- Five years of experience in HVAC and plumbing system design and engineering
- Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and other industry regulations
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
- Experience with sustainable design practices and energy-efficient technologies
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
