Job Description:

Full-Time On-Site in Wood Dale, IL 40 hrs/week

$90,000 - $100,000 Profit Sharing After Year 1 Start ASAP


We're looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join a mission-driven team creating high-precision instruments used in neuroscience and medical research. If you have a passion for designing intricate components and working closely with scientists to bring complex ideas to life, this role offers meaningful, hands-on impact.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the mechanical design process from concept to delivery (70% design, 30% documentation)
  • Work closely with researchers to translate technical needs into product solutions
  • Create precise, small-scale parts using SolidWorks
  • Collaborate with external machining partners and oversee product quality


Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical strongly preferred)
  • 3-5+ years of experience designing highly precise components
  • SolidWorks proficiency (or similar CAD software)
  • Experience with motion control systems and working within tight tolerances
  • Knowledge of machining processes, GD&T, and both metal & plastic part design


Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in the medical device field
  • Familiarity with BOM creation and product documentation processes
