Mechanical Engineer - Fluid Dynamics - Vacuum Systems & Semiconductor Applications

Champaign, IL area United States

Salary: $80k+ (based on experience to low six-figure)

Relocation Assistance Available

As Mechanical Engineer, you'll focus on areas like vacuum science, fluid dynamics, thermal management, and materials engineering. Be part of a dedicated team driving forward product development from concept to delivery. Expect to roll up your sleeves and engage in everything from system modeling and component fabrication to technical documentation and prototype testing, in a lab type environment.

Opportunity To Work With:

  • Mechanical Design: Develop designs for components and subsystems in vacuum and controlled environments.
  • Engineering Analysis: Perform fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and structural evaluations for system performance.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs, test plans, and assembly instructions.
  • Prototype & Testing Support: Assist with prototype fabrication, system assembly, and performance testing to validate designs.
  • Simulation & Optimization: Use CAE tools like ANSYS or COMSOL for design simulation and optimization.
  • Team Coordination: Work with electrical, manufacturing, and R&D teams to ensure design compatibility with system requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in design reviews and troubleshooting and contribute to process improvements.

What We're Looking For:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design, (Pluses: focusing on fluid dynamics, vacuum systems, or thermal analysis.)
  • Employment Status: MUST BE currently and permanently eligible to work in the US for any employer indefinitely without requiring sponsorship (legal US person) OR a Green Card holder must be on the ITAR approved country of origin list
