We're seeking a visionary Senior Electrical Engineer to drive the design of cutting-edge electronics and help define the future of our products. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on problem solver and systems thinker - someone who thrives in ambiguity, relishes technical challenges, and brings bold ideas to life.
As the electrical lead within our Innovation team, you will develop sophisticated electronic systems, from early-stage concepting to fully functional prototypes. You will influence product architecture, component selection, circuit design, testing, and beyond. If you enjoy pushing boundaries and creating what's next, you'll feel right at home here.
Location: Onsite, Fort Wayne, IN
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate abstract ideas and emerging technologies into scalable, manufacturable electrical systems.
- Help instill a Fail Fast - Learn Fast mindset to accelerate Innovation
- Design, develop, and validate analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for next-generation products.
- Architect, design and layout custom PCBs, specify components, to optimize design for performance and manufacturability.
- Own system-level electrical performance: lead modeling, prototyping, validation, and root-cause analysis to drive design improvements and ensure robust, reliable functionality.
- Plan and execute simulations, hands-on prototyping, and rigorous testing using lab tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers) to validate performance and iterate quickly toward optimized solutions.
- Ensure designs meet performance, regulatory, safety, and reliability standards (UL, FCC, CE, IEC, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and operations teams to deliver integrated, production-ready designs.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and experimentation.
- Keep a pulse on emerging technologies and identify new opportunities to advance our product roadmap.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
- 7+ years of experience designing and developing electronic hardware systems.
- Strong background in circuit design, embedded systems, power electronics, and signal integrity.
- Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium)
- Familiarity with embedded firmware development and microcontroller integration.
- Hands-on lab and prototyping skills, with a passion for rapid iteration and testing.
- Proven ability to lead technical development efforts and communicate complex ideas to cross-functional teams and non-engineering stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in early-stage R&D or startup environments with high innovation velocity.
- Knowledge of IoT systems, wireless communication (BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRa), and low-power design.
- Familiarity with EMC/EMI best practices/compliance and regulatory compliance testing.
- Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM), design for test (DFT), and transitioning prototypes to production.
- Issued patents, technical publications, conference presentations or other contributions to the engineering community.
Why You'll Love It Here:
- Be a catalyst for innovation on next-gen products with real market impact.
- Join a collaborative team of bold thinkers, practical builders, and creative problem-solvers.
- Play a key role in shaping the future of our engineering lab, tools, and infrastructure - your input will make a difference.
- Work at a company that values experimentation, curiosity, and engineering excellence - where your ideas and initiative are welcome.
- Contribute to a culture where engineering innovation drives impact.
- Collaborate directly with senior leadership to drive decisions that shape our product strategy and innovation roadmap.
