Job Description:
- As a mechanical engineer on MTAC, you will be working to ensure that our products leave our manufacturing facility in a fully tested and validated state.
- Working closely with an interdisciplinary team of test, process, controls, and design engineers, you will be designing and executing projects that work both manually and automatically to test sub-modules and TLAs of products that client Robotics manufactures.
- Additionally, you will be prototyping concepts, iterating on designs, fabricating components, and testing your equipment out in the field and seeing a direct impact on the business.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders such as R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to determine key design consideration for test equipment design, fabrication, and implementation.
- Exhibiting role model behavior of thorough engineering analysis and documentation.
- Professional job experience in both ProE/Creo and Solidworks.
- Executing projects from a basic concept to production including developing specifications, design requirements, prototyping, testing, validation, and simplification.
- Validating concepts through engineering modeling, hand calculations, and prototypes.
- Performing static and dynamic analysis on mechanical systems using both FEA (Ansys or Solidworks Simulation) and hand calculations.
- Design mechanical sub systems with industrial automation systems such as motors, actuators, sensors, safety systems, etc.
- Creating design documentation, including requirements, engineering design process, functional specifications, drawings, design validation plans/reports, future iterations, compliance, and preventative maintenance.

Candidate Requirements:
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of working as a mechanical engineerExperience with rapid prototyping methods.
- Ability to commute to both North Reading, MA and Westborough, MA, 5 days a week.
- BS Mechanical Engineering (or similar field)
- Experience with a PLM system
- Experience with Solidworks PDM
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Have working knowledge of electro mechanical system and control systems to be able to discuss and dissect issues from electrical/control/test engineers who may not be able to pinpoint mechanical issues.
- Experience with Oracle Agile PLM system.
