Job Description:

Who We Are

Apex Atomics takes atomic technology out of the lab and puts it to work in the real world for commercial and federal clients alike (NIST, NSF, NASA, DoD, DARPA). We've built a reputation for turning research into physical deliverables that enhance safety, efficiency, and America's potential.

Why You'll Love It Here

We keep our team small, tight-knit, and serious about delivering real results. You'll join colleagues who love a good laugh but also appreciate the challenge of building something that's never been built before. If you're into solving tough problems + good humor, you'll fit right in.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop mechanical systems that bring atomic devices to life
  • Collaborate closely with full-stack team to invent new solutions that scale
  • Use CAD tools to model parts and assemblies, focusing on high-precision optics and multi-material solutions (polymers, ceramics, metals)
  • Test and iterate designs to ensure functionality, safety, and reliability
  • Perform analyses (stress, thermal, vibration) to optimize performance and longevity
  • Support fabrication and assembly, working hands-on to address real-world challenges

What You Bring

  • Proven mechanical design experience (you've made things work )
  • Familiarity with optomechanics and multi-material manufacturing is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and a keen eye for detail
  • Comfortable working both independently and within a close-knit team
  • Effective communication skills-technical and otherwise
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

Ready to Make Quantum Real?

If you're excited about taking atomic technology from concept to tangible products, let's talk. Join Apex Atomics and help shape the future of quantum for real, without getting lost in buzzwords.

Atomic technology uses atoms to sense the world and reads out that information using laser spectroscopy; complicated but you can pick up the basics pretty fast with us!
