Position Objective:
Syght is looking for a motivated and creative mechanical engineer to drive the design and implementation of the next generation of millimeter wave security systems. The successful candidate thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and produces innovative and demonstrably effective solutions. Designs must be based on a data-driven approach, leveraging simulation and iteration.
Responsibilities:
Perform full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, and implement)
Model and simulate dynamic responses to optimize designs and increase reliability
Implement and validate all designs in a fast paced, collaborative development environment
Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
Evaluate final product's overall performance, reliability and safety
Prepare product reports and documentation
Requirements:
Proficient with FEA modeling tools (SolidWorks Simulation or Ansys)
Experience with 3D modeling/engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., SolidWorks)
Working experience with product lifecycle management (PLM)
Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science etc.
Highly organized in managing and executing multiple simultaneous projects and tasks
Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Ideal Experience:
Prior experience in RF or mm wave mechanical designs
Prior experience in kinematic designs for optical systems
Demonstrated experience in product design from "cradle to grave"
Certifications or experience in design for manufacturing mechanical engineering techniques for high volume production processes
