Facilities Electrical Project Engineer - Hampton, VA
Emerge is recruiting a direct hire Facilities Electrical Project Engineer in Hampton, VA, for a leading manufacturer. In this role, you will manage and support a variety of electrical and automation projects across a large, complex manufacturing facility. You'll be part of a collaborative team working to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency in all areas of the operation.
- Salary: 90,000 to $105.000 per year
- Bonus: 5% target bonus

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage electrical and controls scopes for capital improvement, obsolescence, and process optimization projects
- Coordinate full lifecycle of assigned projects: scope development, bidding, equipment selection, installation, startup, and closure
- Provide engineering support for production and maintenance teams to resolve equipment and process issues
- Lead PLC, HMI, and robotic programming efforts across all plant facilities and systems
- Maintain accurate records of all automation systems and changes
- Drive improvements to existing automation technology and infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with company and regulatory safety policies, including oversight of EHS procedures
- Supervise contractor activity and ensure adherence to electrical codes and standards

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in ELECTRICAL Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years of experience with electrical systems including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and power distribution
- Experience managing technical projects in a manufacturing environment
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status; ITAR defines U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., "Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems
- Programming experience with Allen Bradley/ControlLogix/Modicon PLCs
- Experience with Wonderware, SQL databases, and touchscreen HMI/SCADA systems
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and other applicable electrical codes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Inventor
