Job Description
Our Electrical Engineer job will provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting Energy and Chemical projects in our Engineering & Design Englewood office. Each day you will be an important team member as you participate in the design, coordination, and execution of Electrical projects for our clients. You should be a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with a minimum of 7 more years of experience in Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls engineering design work for Engineering and Design Consulting. Engineering management a plus. This is a departmental leadership and mentoring position. GLOBAL PROJECT APPROACH IS CRITICAL
Our Electrical Engineer:
- Develop scope of work/ budget and schedule
- Knowledgeable of medium and low voltage transformer design and MCC design
- Power Distribution throughout Industrial Facilities
- One Line Drawings and Specification
- Establish electrical area classifications
- Grounding Plans
- PLC Control Cabinet Designs
- Lighting Plans
- Lightning Protection
- Network Architecture
- Cable and Conduit Schedules, Sizing
- Power Studies including SKM or ETAP
- Monitor and advise Department Manager and Project Manager of changes
- Prepares detail design milestones, staffing schedules and man-hour estimates
- Establishes design concepts and design data for work assigned to group and assures technical accuracy and conformance to project requirements
- Prepares Engineering Change Request as required
- Researches suitable solutions and estimating cost and timescales
- Trains less experienced engineers and designers
- Generates electrical equipment and construction specifications
- Applies standard engineering tasks and exhibits a working knowledge of applicable codes
- Develops planning, scheduling and coordinating detailed phases of engineering work
- Reviews and generates design data from P&ID's
- Performs the more sophisticated and complicated designs and calculations in accordance with established department standards
- Coordinates details and miscellaneous design criteria with other disciplines
- Checks and assists designers and drafters in their assignments
- Prepares and /or supervises engineering reports, studies, calculations and checks drawings as required
SPECIAL NOTE: Preference will be given to candidates residing in the greater Denver area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer PE
- Oil and Gas experience
- Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the basic qualifications, the ideal candidate will also possess the following preferred qualifications:
- Excellent understanding and knowledge of Instrumentation and Control systems as they relate to the industrial settings
- Excellent power knowledge
- Proficient in using Microsoft Suite including MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
