Job Description:

Rugged Science is seeking an Electronics Systems Engineer who will be responsible for supporting various engineering activities on DOD, industrial, and government contracts. Candidate must work well independently or in a team setting, possess strong attention to detail, take ownership of assignments, and have the desire to work in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities include:

• Documentation Support

• Test Procedures & Reports

• Technical Reports (CDRL, SDRL, DID, etc.)

• User Manuals

• Proposals & White Papers

• Requirements Management Support (review, updates, imports/exports)

• Testing Support including operation of electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, etc.)

• Troubleshooting system, component, and circuit failures

• Supporting the Design (generation of schematic, layout, and fabrication documents), Analysis, and Testing of various types of custom PCB's ranging from filter boards for EMI noise attenuation to audio and display processing boards.


Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering

• 3+ years of experience in Military Electrical & Electronic Product Development

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point (MS Project experience is a plus)


Preferred Experience with:

• PCB design (schematic, layout, fabrication drawings) including power filtering and audio and display signal processing using Autodesk EAGLE, KiCad, or equivalent

• Military electrical testing including MIL-STD-461 (EMI) and MIL-STD-1399-300 (Magnetic Field and Power)

• Intel x86 computer architecture

• Network communication protocols and peripherals (TCP, UDP, CAN, MODBUS, etc.)

• Low level communication protocols and interfaces (USB, UART, SPI, I2C, etc.)

• Linux and MS Windows Operating Systems
