JOB DESCRIPTION:

We're seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of ten years of experience for our client's DC Metro office. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. The successful individual will work closely with our business development team and other discipline leads in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing/business development. This role provides the opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multidiscipline office. This candidate will be working directly with clients providing consulting services.

The ideal candidate will have experience in providing engineering for a variety of projects involving HVAC systems, plumbing systems and coordinating multifaceted projects. We are seeking innovative, results-oriented individuals who value high standards of performance and collaborative teamwork.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 10+ years of engineering work experience including:
  • Designing HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Managing and designing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Leading design team efforts.
  • Managing project team for budget and schedule control.
  • Experience with Load Calculation Software.
  • Working knowledge of REVIT and CAD.
  • Developing fee and qualification-based proposals.
  • Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus.
  • Active local industry involvement is a plus.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing and ensure design conforms with all applicable codes and client standards.
  • Reading and preparing project drawings including ductwork plans, piping plans, sections, isometric piping drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using standard industry programs.
  • Energy modeling experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams.
  • Ability to travel periodically.
