Mechanical Engineer - Scrap Operations - Steel Recycling
Busy metals mill in the Western Tennessee area (not Nashville) needs a Mechanical Engineer to identify improvements in a steel scrap operation. This is a large-scale metals shredding, scrap processing and metals recycling operation. To qualify, you should have experience with capital equipment used in working on large scale metals recycling, using high speed, high volume shredding machinery. Experience in the maintenance of large-scale machinery in the mining industry is a close match, too.

- Design or develop new or alterations to existing structures, systems, and equipment.
- Provide timely and accurate cost estimates on proposed improvements.
- Support and participate in CAPEX projects.
- Participate and contribute to the achievement of department goals including goal setting
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or related field- or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4-6 years of practical training pertaining to scrap processing, melting, casting, rolling, maintenance, finishing, and/or shipping/warehouse or other heavy manufacturing operations, with some supervisory experience.
- Mining machinery maintenance engineering is a very good fit for this job
- Good knowledge of steel or aluminum manufacturing methods and techniques involving the use of heavy mill machinery and related equipment.
