The Mechanical Engineer will:
- Conduct engineering calculations and create detailed mechanical engineering drawings for HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection system focusing on the firm's key project sectors.
- Operate under the guidance of a Project Manager and senior technical oversight.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the development of project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
- Preparing engineering design loads and calculations, mechanical system layouts (HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection), and design documentation for all project phases.
- Coordinating design efforts between engineering disciplines and the architecture team, performing engineering calculations, and overseeing the production of drawings.
- Conducting energy analysis and implementing high-performance design techniques.
- Compiling detailed engineering reports and narratives.
- Performing on-site condition surveys.
- Reviewing contractor submittals and RFIs, and providing field observations throughout the construction administration process.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design of HVAC and plumbing systems for complex projects.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software.
- Experience in energy modeling and developing related reports/presentations.
- Familiarity with energy modeling software
- PE Licensed preferred, EIT required
- LEED Accredited Professional
- Experience and interest in sustainable and high-performance building design
