Job Overview
The Senior Electrical Engineer position plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining safety-critical electrical systems and components to be used in Electronic Safe and Arm Devices (ESAD) and Ignition Safety Devices (ISD). As a Senior level electrical engineer position, ownership of larger projects and leadership of teams will be expected. This key player will combine direct, hands-on technical expertise, leadership, and problem-solving skills to design, test, implement, and maintain safety-critical electrical systems.
Essential Functions
• Design, develop and test safety-critical electrical systems, to include ESADs and ISDs.
• Act as the lead engineer for design, protype fabrication, and manufacturing.
• Works with avionics, embedded systems (microcontrollers, FPGAs, Single Board Computers etc ), and Radio Frequency (RF) links. Supports Flight Test operations, as needed.
• Develop and maintain electrical control systems, including wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Analyze and interpret technical data, such as specifications, blueprints, and schematics, to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations. Thorough understanding of US Military Standards such as MIL-STD-1316/1901 and familiarity with environmental testing as specified in MIL-STD-331 and MIL-STD-464.
• Present design and technical data to Government Safety Boards for approval.
• Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams of other engineers, technicians, and clients to identify and resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
