Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer - Water/Wastewater Facilities
Location: Denver, CO
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $140,000 - $200,000

About the Role:
A growing engineering firm is seeking a qualified Principal Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of electrical systems for water and wastewater facility projects. This individual will lead or contribute to the electrical design efforts on a variety of projects and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in industrial power design, and comfortable working with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute electrical design efforts on industrial infrastructure projects.

  • Design of medium and low voltage power distribution systems, motor controls, VFDs, lighting systems, and equipment layouts.

  • Ensure designs meet NEC and applicable codes and standards.

  • Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff as needed.

  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.

  • Conduct field inspections for installations, assessments, and ongoing design needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • 5-15 years of relevant experience in industrial electrical design.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), with the ability to obtain license in additional states.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.

  • Experience with SKM and/or ETAP electrical analysis software.

  • Working knowledge of Revit and BIM processes.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with instrumentation and control systems (field devices, PLCs, HMIs, etc.).

  • Background in the water/wastewater industry is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with construction documentation, submittal review, and QA/QC processes.
