A global manufacturer of automotive electrical components is currently seeking an Entry Level Japanese / English Bilingual Mechanical Engineer to join their Design department at their facility in the Northern Columbus, Ohio area. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-3 years of Design or Mechanical Engineering experience in the automotive industry, and the ability to communicate in both Japanese and English at Advanced Conversational Level. This is a full-time and direct hire position.
Entry Level Japanese / English Bilingual Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities Include:
- Design and product development of automotive components
- Develop and maintain engineering drawings, schematics, and Bill of Materials for internal and customer use
- Assist with prototype development, simulation and testing, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) functions, etc., as needed
- Interface with customers regarding design reviews, potential changes, approval, and manufacturing feasibility
- Ensure that products meet industry and governmental standards
- Participate in meetings regarding project status with both internal departments and outside customers
- Assist management in design-department process improvements and performance analysis
- Other duties as assigned
Entry Level Japanese / English Bilingual Mechanical Engineer Requirements Include:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred
- Advanced conversational-level Japanese language ability (JLPT N3 equivalent) is required
- Minimum 1-3 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer or in a quality-adjacent role (including internships, co-ops, etc.)
- Familiarity with CATIA V5 and/or 3-D Ideas design programs preferred
- Analytical and quantitative approach to problem solving
- Strong communication and collaboration ability in a multicultural environment
- This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, lift in excess of 50 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
