Job Summary
Strategic Thermal Labs is looking for a Sr. Piping Engineer who is interested in owning the piping and fluid design of multiple data center liquid cooling solutions through architecture, design and sustaining.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated person who is responsible for optimizing the design of liquid cooling fluid networks for pressure, flow, cost, code compliance and manufacturing.
Role Responsibilities
Define and analyze piping and pipe supports to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design and develop new data center liquid cooling product solutions.
Leverage economy of scale through standardization and modularization of data center products.
Maintain and develop technical design procedures associated with piping and pipe support analysis activities.
Provide technical subject matter expertise to peers, senior management and partner teams.
Develop business justification and narratives to promote new concepts and ideas.
Lead key initiatives for the organization while demonstrating extreme ownership.
Work with global suppliers and manufacturing to specify appropriate mechanical and associated subcomponents.
Provide product design support to other team members.
Writing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
Essential Role Requirements
B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
5+ years of experience in working with piping and fluid system design
- Proficiency with CAD software tools.
Demonstrated experience designing stainless steel piping and plumbing designs for hydronic systems
Extensive knowledge of pipe fitting types, valves, materials and filtration
Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment, manage multiple projects, collaborate with cross functional teams to solve complex challenges while meeting aggressive but realistic deadlines.
Desirable Requirements
PE certification
Experience designing piping and plumbing designs for hydronic systems for data centers
Prior experience working with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including specification, design, prototyping, validation and testing.
- Experience with full lifecycle and proficiency at completing tasks to meet associated milestones.
- Proficiency with PTC CREO 10 and Windchill.
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering documentation, electrical and mechanical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Experience designing air- or water-cooled systems for high-heat density applications.
- Knowledge of industry standards, including ASME B31.1 & B31.3.
