Brightsmith are partnered with a brilliant Electric Vertical Take-Off & Landing (eVTOL) aircraft manufacturer on several key hires as they continue to get ready for market entry.


They are looking to add to their Engineering team by finding a Sr. Electro Mechanical Engineer who can serve as their go-to-expert across design, integration and development of their state of the art eVTOL Aircraft.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, and integration of the vehicle's electrical harness, ensuring optimal performance, weight efficiency, and compliance with industry and regulatory standards whilst also playing a key role in designing structural integrity and advanced thermal management solutions
  • Conduct feasibility studies and detailed analyses, including electrical system performance, thermal modeling, and stress analysis for enclosures
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to define specifications, source components, and oversee production processes, ensuring high quality and timely delivery
  • Utilize CAD and simulation tools in creating detailed designs and drawings and continue to validate system performance
  • Support all validation and system-level testing along with analyzing additional test data to optimize performance, durability, and safety
  • Develop and refine design standards, best practices, and documentation for harness and enclosure development, ensuring efficient processes across the organization


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working directly in Electrical harness & enclosure design, preference on the aerospace or automotive industry
  • Bachelor's or Advanced degree within Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong Proficiency in CATIA as well as enclosure design tools and other simulation tools such as ANSYS or similar software
  • Expertise in electrical routing and electrical systems, thermal management techniques, and all materials required for enclosures and harnesses
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions under tight constraints
