Job Description:


Responsibilities:

  • Tool Path Programming: Craft and optimize tool paths for robotic operations using offline programming tools, ensuring efficiency, quality, and minimal waste tailored to each part.
  • Automation Design & Implementation: Design, develop, and integrate automated systems, including robotics, PLCs, SCADA, and vision systems. Collaborate with external integrators to customize solutions.
  • Programming and Optimization: Program and fine-tune robotic operations for diverse production requirements. Continuously refine automation programming.
  • System Maintenance & Enhancement: Establish and manage maintenance protocols for all automated systems. Use data insights to enhance robot programming and tool path efficiency.
  • Project Facilitation: Lead and coordinate automation projects, particularly those centered around tool path creation.
  • Innovation and Research: Explore cutting-edge tool path generation technologies, including AI and scanning techniques. Innovate automation strategies to accommodate part variability. Evaluate sustainable automation practices.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all tool path programming and automation processes meet safety compliance standards (ISO 10218, ANSI/RIA R15.06, NFPA 79, ISO 13849, OSHA). Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols.
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor and train team members on advanced tool path programming and automation techniques.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to integrate part-specific requirements into automation. Communicate project progress and technical solutions to stakeholders.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in offline programming tools for robotic tool path generation. Deep understanding of robotics programming languages. Experience with control systems, PLCs, and SCADA system integration.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving skills, particularly in optimizing for part variability. Project management leadership for diverse automation projects. Strong communication skills for effective team collaboration.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, Robotics Engineering, or related field. A Master's degree is highly valued.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in industrial automation, with a strong focus on tool path programming in high mix environments.


Additional Skills:

  • Proven track record in environments requiring frequent tool path adjustments for varied parts.
  • Experience with specific robotic applications like sanding or painting is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning for automation optimization.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM for tool path design and simulation.
