Job Title: Electrical Engineer I

Location: Rapid City, SD

Duration: 18 months on W2

Shift: Monday to Friday (Core Hours: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM MST)

Travel: 0-25% (Potential locations: Peoria, IL or Tucson, AZ)


Job Summary:

  • The Electrical Engineer I will support the design, development, and testing of electrical equipment and systems.
  • This entry-level role focuses on developing sensor groups, electrical harnesses, schematics, and supporting fixtures.
  • Ideal for recent graduates, this is a fast-paced, hands-on opportunity within a collaborative engineering environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and test electrical components including sensor groups, harnesses, and control systems.
  • Create and modify electrical schematics and 2D/3D models.
  • Design and model supporting brackets and fixturing.
  • Evaluate design reliability, cost-effectiveness, and safety.
  • Estimate time and cost for projects.
  • Simulate and test machine/system operations.
  • Research and benchmark competitor and vendor products.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (Master's degree also accepted).
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with electrical routing and blueprint reading.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Creo or similar design software.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics and manufacturing processes.
  • Previous experience in an electrical engineering or product development setting.
