We have an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer Casting/Metallurgy at our aerospace location in Rockford, ILL. The primary focus of this role is to support casting function by forecasting and tracking processes to ensure OTD of parts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Partner with team members for to drive casting manufacturer development and project costs
• Provide engineering technical support for Castings activities therefore reducing casting product cost.
• Develop plans for every part number supporting procurement with supplier decisions and development

The ideal candidate will have the following combination of Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering/metallurgy or related field or in lieu of degree a minimum of 8 years' experience in casting producibility or similar roles
• Preferred disciplines include Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
• Must be able to read blueprints and conceptualize product configurations
• Additive manufacturing experience helpful
• Must be a self-starter, manage time effectively and meet deliverable deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate specific requirements with suppliers and monitor the overall development process at supplier end
• Due to the nature of work being performed you must be a US Citizen

Annual Salary: $80K to $120K, DOE
