SUMMARY

Responsible for electrical engineering related activities of the Company. In charge of sourcing, critical evaluation, recommendation, and maintenance of the supply of high quality, cost effective "Common Off The Shelf" electrical and computer peripherals that make up the Company's product line. Performs design activities relating to the development, testing, evaluation and implementation of electrical and electro-mechanical devices or systems. Leads FCC 15B and EAC VVSG 2.0 electrical compliance testing and mitigation activities required for certification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for product design, engineering analysis, production drawings, and vendor fabrication of prototype hardware. Involvement in all aspects of product development including conceptualization, design, analysis, supplier development, and prototype production and testing.


2. Responsible for sourcing and approving alternative components, sub- assemblies, and complete peripherals for Company's product line.


3. Work closely with other design professionals to continually enhance the company's products to maintain technological competitiveness in the marketplace.


4. Performs assembly and detail part design with emphasis on manufacturability, serviceability, and cost.


5. Assembles and tests designs to ensure accuracy and reliability.

6. Interfaces with other departments or suppliers to communicate the design intent of detailed parts.


7. Prepares and reviews Engineering documentation, including electrical schematics, detailed drawings, and assembly drawings.


8. Maintains knowledge of the latest electro-mechanical design methodologies and practices.


9. Maintain records and execute procedures per ISO standards


10. Responsible for leading the electro-mechanical efforts in developing innovative engineering solutions from conceptualization, through prototype development to production.


11. Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess sound experience in an engineering and manufacturing environment that strives to produce cost effective and high quality products with timely delivery. To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the abilities, self-motivation or aptitudes to perform each essential duty competently. The requirements listed are representative of the minimum levels of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Requires a degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education with a minimum of ten years of experience in electrical system design and mechanical component integration. Experience with CAD software packages such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other design software required. Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products.

TRAVEL
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.


Pay range: Between $50-55/hour based on experience.
