Compensation $140k - $165k/year DOE
Responsibilities - Evaluate process conditions, provide analysis, and coordinate the implementation of process improvements in the cement plants and other processes
- Take field measurements, compile process information, perform literature research, and provide data analysis and reporting
- Assist with improving process control, product quality, and efficiencies in the manufacturing process
- Assist the Energy Management Team with identifying and implementing energy efficiency projects
- Assist and develop projects that will help Calportland towards the TCC and California CO2 emission goals
- Review new capital project equipment and process design
- Design new plant process equipment to optimize plant performance and achieve project objectives
- Evaluate plant emissions and develop solutions to comply with regulations
- Identify problem areas and work with plant personnel, engineering, and environmental staff to design and implement solutions
- Work with automation and control systems and, if required, assist with software and graphics development.
- Assist with new process area system start-up and commissioning
- Manage capital improvement projects as assigned
- Ensure a safe work environment in the execution of all duties and activities
Education Bachelor of Science degree in chemical, mechanical, or equivalent engineering
Requirements/Qualifications - Minimum of 7 years of experience in cement manufacturing
- Will be required to travel to company facilities and other locations
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently
- Must be able to work cooperatively with plant and corporate personnel
- Must have the ability to multi-task with competing priorities
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Will be required to lead meetings, maintain records, develop reports, and make presentations
- Must have above-average mathematical abilities
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Expert control system, Process control, Emission control and PID tuning
Conditions of Employment Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
