Your Contribution:

Reporting to the Senior Projects Engineering Lead, the Senior Mechanical Project Engineer will perform his/her duties as a member of the Engineering Department and collaborate with other departments of the division.


The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, planning and execution of engineering services for the underground project. They will handle aspects of underground mine design and bring a wealth of construction experience. The ideal candidate must have experience in design and construction underground infrastructure such maintenance garage, crushers, raises, conveyor systems, dewatering systems, etc. They will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting our Client's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.


  • Create weekly and monthly/3month mine plans in collaboration with Underground mine operations, Development Contractor and other stakeholders;
  • Assist the Underground Design Planning by ensuring the design and construction of underground infrastructure
  • Lead design review meetings for mechanical infrastructure design of maintenance garage, crushers, raises, conveyor systems, dewatering systems, etc;
  • Produce various KPI reports on project development;
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement initiatives in safety and productivity;
  • Other tasks as required.


What You Need To Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  • 8+ years of experience in underground mine design planning and construction of underground infrastructure
  • Professional designation (P.Eng.)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and mine design/planning software (Deswik an asset);
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic and a positive attitude;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written).
  • Must be able to work independently and within a team structure;
  • Works well in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize job duties

Your Work Schedule

  • Remote mine site camp role with a work schedule of 4/3, 4days working 12 hour shifts, 3 days off
