Job Description:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Using the customer s specifications and/or developing the necessary specifications to support project designs to a level of detail necessary to build the proposed equipment.

  • Create process descriptions as inputs to other groups in preparing functional specifications

  • Develop Process and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs) for in-house projects when a customer does not provide them.

  • Creates FAT protocols when not provided by the customer.

  • Assists on installation projects (when asked to do so) by attending bid walkthroughs, providing equipment layouts, providing process engineering support, performing resource planning and providing project details.

  • Reviews and corrects customer approval drawings on projects, and provides direction to System Designers regarding approval drawings.

  • Provide Engineering direction and/or lead a design team on a project.

  • Assist in the development of project estimates and proposals as needed

  • Monitors and initiates additional work authorizations for appropriate drawing changes.

  • Actively participate in RCI to drive improvements for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, in support of company goals/objectives and to exceed customers expectations.

  • Represent the process engineering team during customer visits and for other meetings as required.

  • Collaborate with other functional departments (i.e. sales, estimating, manufacturing, purchasing, etc.) to build unity in pursuit of our corporate goals and strategic objectives.

  • Stay abreast of technology trends to meet industry needs.

  • Train, coach, and mentor other process engineers and designers.



JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • Extensive knowledge of Process Engineering principles and practices.

  • Extensive knowledge with 3A Dairy Standards, PMO, and other sanitary standards.

  • Strong attention to detail required for the creation and review of P&ID s, equipment lists/BOM s, and other applicable prints/drawings

  • Knowledge of project documentation requirements and customer deliverables

  • Demonstrated success interfacing with customer and 3rd party engineering firms.




  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred) or equivalent preferred. Exceptional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • 7 - 10+ plus years of industry experience (sanitary processing)

  • 2+ years of supervisory/management experience is desired, but not required. Willingness and Ability to mentor / direct activities of other process engineers (but no direct reports_.

  • Desire knowledge of AutoCAD software for the completion and /or review of drawings.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft software applications including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint is required.
