Job Description:

Clearance Jobs on behalf of our Federal Government Contracting customer is hiring an Electrical Engineer to support Electro-Optic and Infrared Technologies for the US NAVY. This is a direct-hire position working on-site in Odon, IN or in Huntsville, AL.


Role Summary: You will provide engineering support for Maritime Electro-Optic and Infrared (EO/IR) technology and integration of the next generation of Maritime EO/IR solutions for systems, such as lasers, visual augmentation systems, multi-sensor EO/IR targeting systems, weapon sights, beacons, sensors, displays, and peripherals for various shipboard gun weapon systems and situational awareness systems. Projects could include assessing and addressing technology gaps, developing improvements to leading edge Maritime EO/IR technology, and enhancing and sustaining capabilities to keep pace with continually emerging and evolving Maritime threats.


Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to design and development efforts for the integration and technology insertion of EO/IR sensor technologies in a maritime environment
  • Develop documentation related to requirements, validation, and test and evaluation of systems
  • Work with Configuration Management and Quality teams to manage releases and revisions of test fixtures, software, and test procedures
  • Perform characterization of newly designed components to verify operation to design requirements
  • Train engineers and operators to correctly perform testing of components.
  • Review test data and reports prior to being provided to customers
  • Maintain existing fixtures, software, and test procedures
  • Migrate tests to new equipment and systems, as needed


Required:

  • Active SECRET security clearance
  • 5+ years of related professional work experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or related technical discipline.
  • Knowledge of the systems engineering processes, including working knowledge of Department of Defense computer systems and integrated software application programs


Desired:

  • Experience with troubleshooting and debug of electronic test circuits
  • Experience with electronic component testing and characterization
