Job Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our MEP Department in one of our Montana or Pennsylvania offices. The ideal candidate will be licensed as a Professional Engineer with 8-15 years of experience in building design, be proficient in ACAD and REVIT software as well as mechanical analysis, design, estimating, and report writing. This position involves working closely with 2-3 licensed Professional Engineers and Engineering Interns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical and plumbing design projects and effectively communicate with team and clients throughout all project phases.
- Perform load and ventilation calculations, duct, piping, and plumbing design, system selections, energy modeling.
- Utilize energy & loads modeling software as well as AutoCAD and Revit/BIM for layout and modeling of MEP systems.
- Ensure compliance with building design and codes and standards.
- Specify equipment requirements and prepare technical reports, specifications and project documentation.
- Coordinate with architects, drafters, and multi-discipline staff on various projects.
- Resolve conflicts tactfully in a timely manner.
- Conduct site investigations and meet with clients, architects and contractors.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering w/Mechanical focus.
- PE license with 5+ years of experience in MEP consulting engineering firm conducting the design of building mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit/BIM software required
- Must have in-depth knowledge on application of:
- International Mechanical Code
- Uniform and International Plumbing Codes
- International Fuel Gas Code and NFPA 54
- International Energy Conservation Code
- International Building Code
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able/willingness to visit construction sites and spend 5-10% of the week outside the office.
