Position Title: Mechanical Engineer

Position Summary:
Performs mechanical engineering and multidisciplinary engineering work covering cleanspace product engineering, product development and R&D.
Position Responsibilities:
- Designs and develops new products to add to existing product line using engineering and design software.
- Evaluate current products and work to improve existing products.
- Develops prototype designs for testing.
- Runs tests to determine viability for new product or improvement to existing products. Evaluates results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.
- Involved in engineering work covering other areas such as lighting, structural, acoustics, and fluid dynamics.
- Use multidisciplinary test equipment such as spectroradiometers, power meters, sound intensity probes, load cells, and airflow testing instruments to test and verify performance of products under development.
- Design with aluminum extrusions for ceiling systems.
- Design structural systems and components for cleanrooms.
- Design lighting systems including LEDs.
- Acquire and maintain listings with outside certification laboratories.
- Research and analyze building codes, industry standards, customer specifications and design proposals to maintain product compliance, performance, and safety.
- Develop and maintain 3D models, manufacturing prints, and bills of materials masters.
- Develop and maintain product specifications, technical data sheets, and operation manuals.
- Evaluate engineering change and substitution requests from production staff.
- Manage projects with cross-functional teams.
- Track and prioritize tasks and projects that the team is involved in.
- Coordinate implementation efforts with other engineering teams.
- Participate in field installations, problem solving, and other customer support activities. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- A minimum 2 years' work experience is required.
- Familiarity with cleanroom and operating room industries we are in is beneficial.
- This position requires strong mathematical, analytical and overall computer skills.
- A strong knowledge and fluency in Inventor and design software is required.
- Knowledge of FEA and CFD is preferred.
- Knowledge of machining best practices and sheet metal design.
- Knowledge of NFPA 13, IBC, AMCA, UL, and ASTM standards is beneficial.
- This position also requires strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
- Attention to detail with effective ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Hands-on capabilities of prototyping, fabricating with metal parts, and testing is also required.
