Electrical Engineer 2
Salary: $70/hr - $75/hr
Location: Remote (equipment provided; intermittent on-site travel required)
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required
Work Schedule: Full-time; 4x10 or 5x8
Clearance: DOE Q Clearance Eligibility Preferred at Start
Impact
As a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a high-impact federal project, leading key technical tasks, mentoring junior staff, and contributing directly to the design and implementation of electrical systems for complex infrastructure. Your work will enable mission-critical facility operations by ensuring electrical safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead and coordinate electrical engineering project tasks
- Prepare and review technical documentation including design studies, calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Oversee and mentor junior engineers and support staff
- Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to execute design and field implementation
- Ensure design compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
- Perform field walkdowns and provide support during installation and commissioning
- Use software tools such as AutoCAD and ETAP to support engineering tasks
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, focused on facilities power distribution
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; ETAP experience preferred
- Strong understanding of lighting and grounding systems
- Experience in preparing technical documentation and coordinating with teams
- Eligible for DOE Q Clearance
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Able to travel on-site as needed
Desired Skills
- Experience in mining or industrial facility environments is a plus
- Familiarity with additional electrical engineering software tools
