Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking an Environmental & EMI Test Engineer to support the testing and validation of aircraft electrical power equipment. This role involves the preparation, execution, and documentation of environmental and electromagnetic interference (EMI) tests using DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461 standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for test procedure development, troubleshooting, and technical analysis while collaborating with engineers, technicians, and internal/external stakeholders.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing environmental and EMI test procedures for new aircraft electrical power equipment designs
  • Performing laboratory tests and documenting results for internal and external review.
  • Developing custom test equipment designs and drawings to enable successful testing of aircraft electrical power equipment.


Performance Objectives

  • Support environmental and EMI testing of aircraft electrical power generation, conversion, and distribution equipment.
  • Develop and review test procedures and reports for aerospace electrical power equipment.
  • Conduct and support DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and MIL-STD-461 testing.
  • Develop and review development and qualification test procedures for environmental and EMI tests.
  • Generate test fixture designs to support environmental and EMI testing for aircraft equipment

Essential Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience
  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (or related field) from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in test equipment design and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for EMI test-related issues.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to guide technicians and collaborate across disciplines.


Bonus Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with aircraft electrical power generation, conversion, or distribution equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with custom test fixture development.
  • Experience working in aerospace or defense industries.
  • Knowledge of JIRA for business system support.
