Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join team in New York City. This role involves the design and coordination of electrical systems for a wide range of building types, including commercial, residential, institutional, and mixed-use developments. You will work closely with architects, mechanical and plumbing engineers, and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality, code-compliant electrical designs from concept through construction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Prepare construction documents including drawings, specifications, and load calculations.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, plumbing, structural, architectural) to ensure fully integrated MEP designs.
  • Perform site visits and field surveys to assess existing conditions and support construction administration.
  • Ensure designs comply with NYC Building Code, NEC, NFPA, and other applicable standards.
  • Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and support contractors during the construction phase.
  • Participate in client meetings and present technical solutions clearly and professionally.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, materials, and industry best practices.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in MEP consulting or electrical building systems design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; experience with lighting calculation software (e.g., AGi32, ElumTools) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NYC Electrical Code, NFPA).
  • EIT certification required; PE license or progress toward licensure preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
