Overview:
Seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design, integration, and qualification of ruggedized avionics and embedded electronics. This role offers the opportunity to work on full lifecycle product development, supporting both military and commercial aerospace systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design of analog/digital circuits, power systems, and embedded platforms
- Architect systems with FPGAs, microprocessors, and COTS components
- Oversee schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer
- Ensure compliance with DO-254, DO-160, and MIL-STD-810 standards
- Perform signal integrity, thermal, and impedance analysis
- Direct technical reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR, PRR) and manage documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Required Skills:
- Deep expertise in DO-254 and DO-160/MIL-STD-810 compliant hardware
- Strong analog/digital design background, including high-speed signal integrity
- Proficient in FPGA design (VHDL/Verilog) and integration workflows
- Skilled with Altium Designer, SolidWorks Electrical, and AutoCAD
- Experience with ruggedization for aerospace and defense environments
- Familiar with system simulation tools and test methodologies
Qualifications:
- BSEE required; MSEE preferred
- 15+ years in avionics hardware design
- Extensive experience in FPGA and embedded system development
- Strong documentation, team leadership, and communication skills
