A Kelly Engineering client has asked us to find an Electrical Engineer to join their team to design, develop, and supervise the installation, proper startup, and function of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, or utility use.
Client is open to assisting with relocation expenses.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Design and evaluate electrical systems, components, and applications through research and testing.
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) and engineering software to perform electrical design tasks.
- Develop and implement testing methods to verify system and component functionality.
- Oversee construction, installation, maintenance, testing, and documentation to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
- Translate customer requirements into electrical product designs by researching materials and manufacturing methods.
- Improve manufacturing processes by designing/modifying equipment and incorporating operator feedback.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing, customers, and vendors by responding to inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations to uphold product and company standards.
- Maintain equipment by following procedures and coordinating necessary repairs.
- Prepare budgets and estimates for labor, materials, and construction costs.
- Investigate customer complaints, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage and update product databases, including writing supporting software programs.
- Review and complete engineering drawing packets documenting logic, wiring, and system interactions.
- Assist sales and estimating with project input and product development.
- Collaborate with procurement and vendors on component modifications and approvals.
- Independently develop project schedules and manage projects of varying size.
- Travel for this role is minimal.
Desired skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- 2-5 years of experience designing and evaluating electrical systems, components, and applications
- Software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Product Data Management
- Knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NEC, control logic, and power generation/protection systems.
