Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer Req in Santa Clara, CA, to: design, collect data, analyze and compile reports on moderately difficult Process Engineering experiments, within safety guidelines. Perform hardware characterization on moderately difficult systems, within safety guidelines. Troubleshoot moderately complex problems, performing root cause analysis and resolving moderately difficult process engineering issues. Measure film properties, organize data/reports for review and interpret data. Generate internal documentation for products, presentations and technical reports. Resolve moderately difficult process engineering issues/problems under general supervision. Identify, select and work with vendors and suppliers, under general supervision. Implement new technology, products and analytical instrumentation. Interact with customers to resolve semiconductor process engineering problems with limited supervision. Implement new technology and product within and outside of the company. Requirements: Masters degree or foreign equivalent degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or a related field, and two (2) years of industry experience in the position offered or related capacity(ies). Demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in each of the following: 1. Semiconductor equipment for Si wafer microchip processing; 2. Si wafer analytical tools, including metrology for ellipsometry, resistivity, defects, trace metal analysis; 3. Data analytical tools including JMP; 4. Experience in semiconductor processing fab operation and safety protocols; and 5. Knowledge in semiconductor chip processing sequence and semiconductor equipment requirement.
