Job title: Principal System and Electrical Engineer
Location: Foster City, CA (Onsite-5 days)
Duration: Fulltime or Contract
Role Summary:
Leverage advanced electrical integration expertise to lead the definition and validation of system-level electrical architectures at Client. This role is central to translating domain-specific configurations into a robust architecture baseline, interfacing across system, validation, and offshore teams to ensure seamless collaboration and traceability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive the development of the complete electrical architecture using Siemens Capital and other modeling tools.
• Define ECU signal interfaces, high-voltage and low-voltage network topologies, and system integration patterns aligned to vehicle requirements.
• Utilize hands-on experience in BMS, HV distribution (e.g., HV-BJB), and safety-critical design for architecture validation.
• Bridge onshore and offshore collaboration by mentoring teams in India/Mexico on harness design, signal integrity, and embedded validation.
• Apply DFMEA and FTA principles during architectural reviews to proactively identify design risks and failure modes.
• Contribute to Digital Twin validation environments by preparing schematics, harness topologies, and PCB design insights for simulation fidelity.
• Act as a focal point for system-level debugging, particularly where electrical/software interfaces intersect (CAN, UART, SPI).
• Lead and document design reviews, present validation results, and influence architectural decisions based on real-world implementation constraints.
• Key Deliverables:
• Siemens Capital-based electrical domain models and network schematics.
• Signal flow and interface validation reports (covering CAN, J1772, S32 ARM Cortex-M7 interfaces).
• DFMEA and Fault Tree reports on system-level circuits (HV/LV).
• Collaborative feedback and mentoring documentation from offshore integration teams.
• Integration-ready PCB assets aligned to UL standards and vehicle safety requirements.
Qualifications and Match to Role:
• 5+ years of hands-on electrical integration across BMS, power management, and charging standards (J1772, J3068).
• Strong knowledge of Siemens Capital, Altium, and system validation in high-voltage (400V-480V) environments.
• Demonstrated ability to execute multi-disciplinary engineering in collaboration with software, mechanical, and harness teams.
• Expertise in DFMEA, HDI PCB, and UL compliance processes for EV platforms.
• Prior experience mentoring interns and leading cross-functional technical sessions, aligning well with leadership expectations in this role.
