Lead Electrical Engineer


We're hiring a licensed electrical engineer to lead the electrical division at a specialist engineering firm in Phoenix, Arizona!


In this leadership role you will own the design, development and growth of the electrical engineering division, working across diverse building projects including healthcare and lab facilities.


You will combine hands-on engineering expertise with business development and team leadership to drive growth and deliver high-quality electrical design solutions.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and develop electrical design and construction documents for a variety of building projects
  • Collaborate closely with architects, clients and internal multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional project outcomes
  • Develop and implement a growth strategy for the electrical division, building on existing mechanical and plumbing capabilities
  • Design, specify and review power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, telecommunications and special systems
  • Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code, NFPA, TIA/EIA, and other regulatory standards
  • Manage project budgets, schedules and technical quality, including site visits and troubleshooting
  • Lead and mentor designers, fostering technical excellence and efficient workflows
  • Support business development through client engagement and proposal preparation


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 7 years of experience developing electrical construction documents
  • Licensed Electrical Engineer in Arizona
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design, codes, and industry standards
  • Experience working on diverse projects including healthcare, hospitality, retail, and industrial
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and client relationship abilities
