In support of our client, a global automotive OEM, we are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support facility expansion projects and ongoing facilities modifications. This program-based assignment will be located at our client's facility in Smyrna, Tennessee and will work directly with our client's Facility Engineering and Project Management team and vendors to provide leadership and administration for various projects. The individual we seek will have a Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent with experience in the design and construction of industrial facilities. Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects from design through installation is essential. Responsibilities This position is responsible for the analysis, engineering and implementation of plant wide mechanical systems including HVAC, building and process piping, fire protection, plumbing, process exhaust, boilers, chillers, etc. in support of facilities related projects. Manage and coordinate projects to support facilities modification and capital expansion projects related to model change programs and miscellaneous plant projects. Bid package development including drawings and specification, vendor selection, planning budgets and schedules, resources, design and engineering, project management from design through construction and commissioning/stat-up Provide ongoing engineering support for manufacturing and maintenance. Estimate construction costs for capital projects. Work with purchasing to analyze bids and award project work. Coordinate construction activities and review payment requests. This is a long term, program-based assignment providing Engineering support for ongoing mechanical systems design projects as well as upcoming CAPEX projects for the Smyrna assembly facility. Position is based in Smyrna, TN with minimal travel to other client and vendor locations.
